GadgetRenu LLC Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 5/11/2026

Last Updated: 5/11/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how GadgetRenu LLC, a New York limited liability company doing business as GadgetRenu ("GadgetRenu," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you visit GadgetRenu.com, request a quote, sell or attempt to sell a device to us, purchase a product from us, contact us, participate in promotions, use our support services, or otherwise interact with GadgetRenu.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into GadgetRenu's Terms & Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms & Conditions.

GadgetRenu operates an electronics buyback, trade-in, inspection, resale, repair, refurbishment, recycling, warranty, returns, and ecommerce business. Because we buy used electronic devices, we may collect information that a typical online store does not collect, including device identifiers, serial numbers, IMEI numbers, shipping records, inspection photographs, payout records, ownership information, fraud-prevention information, and, where required or appropriate, identity-verification and compliance records.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use our website, request a quote, send us a device, buy from us, or provide information to us.

Where required by law, required by our payment, shipping, fraud-prevention, or compliance processes, or reasonably necessary to verify ownership or prevent fraud, we may collect identity and ownership information, including date of birth or age confirmation, government-issued ID type, ID number, issuing jurisdiction, ID expiration date, ID images, selfies, live photos or videos, signatures or electronic signatures, proof of ownership, receipts, invoices, carrier account records, proof of address, business records for bulk sellers, tax forms, taxpayer identification information, and related verification results.

F. Payment, payout, tax, and financial information

If you sell a device to us, we may collect payout information, payment-method selections, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, ACH, check, wire, gift-card, store-credit, or other payout details, payout status, payout history, payment reversal records, clawback records, reimbursement records, tax forms, W-9 or W-8 information where applicable, taxpayer identification numbers where required, and backup-withholding or information-reporting records.

When you visit or use our website, we and our service providers may collect IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, links clicked, session information, search terms, approximate location, timestamps, cookie identifiers, pixel identifiers, advertising identifiers, UTM parameters, Google click identifiers such as gclid, gbraid, or wbraid where applicable, conversion events, order events, quote events, checkout events, and other online activity information.

I. Information from devices you send to us

You are responsible for backing up and removing all personal data from any device before sending it to GadgetRenu. We do not ask you to send us personal files, photos, messages, contacts, passwords, accounts, SIM cards, memory cards, or other personal data stored on a device.

However, if you send a device that still contains personal data, we may incidentally encounter that data during inspection, testing, resetting, wiping, repair, refurbishing, return, resale, recycling, investigation, or legal compliance. We may delete, wipe, reset, reformat, destroy, return, quarantine, or otherwise process the device and any data on it as described in our Terms & Conditions. We do not guarantee recovery, return, preservation, or deletion of any data left on a device.

J. Information from third parties

We may receive information from payment processors, shipping carriers, fraud-prevention vendors, identity-verification vendors, analytics providers, advertising platforms, marketplaces, repair or refurbishment providers, recycling partners, data-erasure providers, manufacturers, carriers, blacklist or stolen-device databases, law-enforcement agencies, regulators, insurers, financial institutions, public sources, business partners, and other third parties.

You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.

We do not currently send SMS/text messages. If GadgetRenu later offers SMS/text messaging, marketing text messages will require separate opt-in consent and required disclosures. Agreeing to this Privacy Policy or our Terms & Conditions is not consent to receive marketing texts.

H. To operate and improve our website and business

We use information to operate, maintain, personalize, troubleshoot, analyze, secure, and improve our website, quote flow, checkout flow, inspection process, customer support, marketing campaigns, product listings, pricing tools, fraud-prevention tools, and business operations.

I. For advertising, analytics, and conversion measurement

We may use online activity information, cookies, pixels, advertising identifiers, and attribution data to measure ad performance, understand quote and checkout activity, prevent duplicate conversion reporting, attribute orders to ads, improve marketing efficiency, and show more relevant ads where permitted by law.

J. For legal, regulatory, tax, and compliance purposes

We use information to comply with laws, secondhand-dealer rules, recordkeeping obligations, tax reporting, payment-provider rules, shipping rules, subpoenas, court orders, law-enforcement requests, regulatory requests, insurance claims, audits, and dispute-resolution obligations. We may also use information to enforce our Terms & Conditions, protect our rights, recover losses, and defend legal claims.

3. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients:

A. Service providers and contractors

We may disclose information to vendors that help us operate our business, including website hosting providers, cloud-storage providers, payment processors, payout providers, shipping partners, email providers, customer-support platforms, analytics providers, advertising platforms, fraud-prevention vendors, identity-verification vendors, tax and accounting providers, data-erasure providers, repair and refurbishment providers, resale marketplaces, recycling partners, IT providers, and professional advisors.

B. Shipping carriers and logistics partners

We may disclose names, addresses, tracking numbers, package details, device details, claims information, and related transaction information to shipping carriers and logistics partners to create labels, track shipments, investigate loss or damage, process claims, and return devices.

C. Payment, payout, tax, and financial partners

We may disclose information to payment processors, payout providers, banks, payment apps, tax-service providers, accounting providers, collection providers, and related financial partners to process payments, prevent fraud, issue refunds, reverse or recall payments, report tax information, and resolve disputes.

D. Fraud-prevention, identity-verification, and device-verification partners

We may disclose information to fraud-prevention vendors, identity-verification vendors, carriers, manufacturers, blacklist databases, stolen-property databases, insurers, marketplaces, and other partners to verify identity, ownership, title, device status, lock status, serial numbers, IMEI numbers, authenticity, eligibility, and fraud risk.

E. Law enforcement, regulators, licensing authorities, and legal parties

We may disclose information to law-enforcement agencies, regulators, licensing authorities, courts, arbitrators, government agencies, insurers, attorneys, investigators, or other parties where we believe disclosure is required or appropriate to comply with law, prevent fraud, investigate stolen property, respond to claims, enforce our rights, protect safety, or cooperate with legal process.

F. Rightful owners, carriers, financing companies, employers, schools, or other claimants

If a device appears stolen, financed, leased, carrier-restricted, employer-owned, school-owned, subject to mobile-device management, subject to a third-party claim, or otherwise disputed, we may disclose relevant information to parties reasonably involved in verifying or resolving the claim.

G. Business transfers

We may disclose or transfer information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, transfer of assets, due diligence process, or similar business transaction.

H. With your direction or consent

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, authorize us to do so, or otherwise consent.

I. Aggregated or de-identified information

We may use and disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you, including for analytics, pricing research, market analysis, device-value trends, advertising, and business reporting.

4. Cookies, Pixels, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, maintain security, prevent fraud, measure performance, analyze traffic, attribute conversions, and deliver or measure advertising.

These technologies may collect online activity information such as IP address, browser information, device information, pages viewed, links clicked, referral source, UTM parameters, quote events, checkout events, order events, advertising identifiers, and conversion identifiers.

We may use services such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Meta or other advertising platforms, email-marketing tools, fraud-prevention tools, and similar technologies if enabled on our website.

Your choices may include browser settings, cookie settings, device settings, ad-platform settings, email unsubscribe links, and legally recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where required by applicable law.

Our website may not respond to all browser "Do Not Track" signals. Where required by law, we will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals for applicable opt-out rights, such as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.

5. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

GadgetRenu does not sell personal information for money.

However, some privacy laws define "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" broadly. If we use advertising cookies, pixels, analytics tools, or similar technologies, we may disclose or make available online identifiers, cookie IDs, device identifiers, IP addresses, browsing activity, quote activity, checkout activity, or conversion information to advertising or analytics partners. Depending on your state, this may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or processing for targeted advertising.

You may opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where required by applicable law by contacting us at support@gadgetrenu.com or by using available cookie or privacy controls on our website. If we implement a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link or similar state-law mechanism, you may use that mechanism as well.

We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 16 years old.

6. Identity Verification, ID Records, and Biometric Information

Because GadgetRenu buys used electronics and must prevent stolen-property, fraud, payment, tax, and compliance risks, we may collect identity and ownership information when required or appropriate.

This may include government ID information, proof of ownership, receipts, signatures, selfies, live photos or videos, and related verification records. We use this information for identity verification, ownership verification, fraud prevention, secondhand-dealer compliance, tax compliance, payout security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

We do not use government ID images, selfies, biometric information, or sensitive identity documents for public marketing unless you give separate express consent.

We do not sell, lease, trade, or profit from biometric identifiers or biometric information. If we use an identity-verification provider or technology that creates or processes biometric identifiers or biometric information, we will provide any additional notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law before collecting or processing that information.

Unless a shorter period is required by law, we retain identity-verification and biometric-related information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including legal compliance, fraud prevention, transaction records, disputes, audits, and security. We may delete, de-identify, or securely destroy such information when it is no longer needed and retention is not required or permitted by law.

7. Information Left on Devices

Before sending a device to GadgetRenu, you should back up your data, sign out of accounts, remove locks, remove SIM cards and memory cards, and factory reset the device.

If you send us a device that contains personal data, you understand that we may incidentally access or process that data when inspecting, testing, diagnosing, resetting, wiping, repairing, refurbishing, returning, reselling, recycling, investigating, or complying with legal obligations.

We may use data-erasure tools, factory resets, repair tools, refurbishment processes, or recycling procedures. We may also quarantine, return, surrender, or dispose of a device as described in our Terms & Conditions.

We are not responsible for personal data, files, photos, videos, messages, contacts, passwords, accounts, SIM cards, memory cards, accessories, or other property left on or in a device. We do not guarantee that any data will be recoverable, returned, preserved, or erased in every circumstance.

8. Non-Identifying Device Photos and Videos

We may create and use photographs, videos, screenshots, diagnostic records, inspection records, testing records, and repair records relating to devices.

We may use non-identifying device media for inspection, fraud prevention, quality control, support, revised-offer documentation, training, repair documentation, resale listings, marketplace listings, advertising, marketing, analytics, and business operations.

We will not knowingly publish your government ID, selfie, payment information, tax information, home address, personal data from a device, or other directly identifying personal information in public marketing materials without separate consent.

9. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Tools

We may use automated systems, rules, analytics, machine-learning tools, or AI-assisted tools to help with quote calculations, fraud detection, duplicate conversion prevention, support routing, device verification, pricing analysis, quality control, marketing analysis, and business operations.

Automated tools may assist our team, but GadgetRenu may also use human review for revised offers, fraud issues, payment issues, device issues, disputes, and support matters.

We do not intentionally use seller government IDs, selfies, payment information, tax information, or personal data left on devices to train public AI models. If we use service providers that process data with AI-assisted systems, we use them subject to contractual, security, or confidentiality restrictions where appropriate.

10. Communications and Marketing Choices

A. Transactional communications

We may send transactional emails or other communications about your quote, order, shipping label, device, inspection, revised offer, payout, return, warranty, purchase, account, legal notices, privacy notices, or security notices. You may not opt out of transactional communications that are necessary for your transaction or our legal obligations.

B. Email marketing

If you receive marketing emails, you may opt out by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting us at support@gadgetrenu.com. Even after you opt out, we may still send transactional or legally required communications.

C. SMS/text messages

GadgetRenu does not currently send SMS/text messages. Providing a phone number, requesting a quote, accepting an offer, purchasing a product, or agreeing to this Privacy Policy does not constitute consent to receive marketing text messages.

If GadgetRenu later offers SMS/text messaging, we will obtain any required consent separately. Marketing text consent will not be required as a condition of buying from us or selling a device to us unless legally permitted and clearly disclosed. SMS terms may include message frequency, message and data rates, STOP/HELP instructions, and other required disclosures.
